Reading and WRITING
Reading makes you write well. Seriously. It's nearly impossible to read alluring, keen, insightful, imaginative books without absorbing some of the magic.
Reading engages the imagination. But be choosey. We're not talking just any book. Quality control is on you.
Please read my blog for some enrichment reading suggestions, particularly for 8th-12+ graders, and adults.
If you're still not sure where to start, there are five books I can't recommend enough. They are incredible, all for very different reasons.
1. The Complete Sherlock Holmes (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle)
2. Ender's Game (Orson Scott Card)
3. Lord of the Rings (Tolkien)
4. The Secret Garden (Frances Hodgson Burnett)
5, The Phantom Tollbooth (Norton Juster)
What do you think? What are your favorites?
